This 2oz. probiotic sunscreen is made with 24 medicinal herbs and plant nutrients that are high in antioxidants, which have been known to help build one's natural resistance to harmful radiation .  The Sun Protection Factor (SPF) primarily comes from the un-coated non-nanoparticle zinc oxide and in part from the natural SPF found in organic plant oils.  This sunscreen is a great alternative to the toxic chemicals commonly found in synthetic sunscreens.  Human and Earth friendly.

• It has not been tested to determine the specific SPF level. If we had to guess on the SPF we would say its roughly 15 or so with the natural plant protection and the non-nano zinc.

Why Use Natural Sunscreen:
We spend a great deal of time outside in the full sun with children and grandbabies. Although we try to use sun hats and govern the length of our exposure, a good natural sunscreen is a must for the fair-skinned members of our family. Years ago we stopped using commercial sunscreens because of the chemicals they contain. Organic Lifestyle Magazine reported that none of the ingredients in conventional sunscreens are safe. The Environmental Working Group recently reported that there is some evidence that commercial sunscreens might actually increase the risk of some of the deadliest forms of skin damage perhaps because free radicals are released as sunscreen chemicals break down in the sunlight.


The skin has a natural ability to protect us from harmful radiation if we give it the correct patterning and the nutrition it needs to function correctly. It is our largest assimilation/elimination organ, and our physical body’s first line of defense against all incoming energies. Our skin does not have to be vulnerable to harmful external energies, including overexposure to the sun. Sunburn usually occurs when the amount of UV rays exceeds the body’s natural melanin levels. People who eat a healthy diet full of antioxidants produce more melanin which helps protect their skin from sun damage.

In order to topically feed the skin the nutrition necessary to help it produce natural melanin and to combat free radical damage from over exposure to UV rays, we infused 24 herbs high in antioxidants into organic raw coconut oil, Antioxidants are helpful for repairing damaged skin.  Many organic plant oils have a natural SPF (sun protection factor) of 5 or more.

The main SPF factor in this sunscreen comes from uncoated, non-nanoparticle Zinc Oxide. Non-nanoparticle means that the zinc particles sit on the skin, creating a barrier, without being absorbed into the deeper tissues. The zinc we use is pharmaceutical grade, free of lead and other impurities.
