Activated Charcoal Skin Detox is a blend of 11 different powdered mineral and herbal cleansers and healers combined with Bee Pollen and Honey Powder. This is a probiotic detox, with EM Powder, which is a blend of effective microorganisms needed for health and well-being. The Powders are mixed with water and spread across the skin. As they dry, toxins are pulled from deep in the underlying layers of tissue. It also helps to tighten pores.

Activated Charcoal DOES NOT stain the skin, however it can stain fabric, so take precautions to keep this detox off clothes and bedding.

You will receive this skin detox in powder form and it comes in a 2 oz glass cobalt blue jar. The dry weight is 1.3 oz.

There are approximately 15 facial applications, of 1 teaspoon each, although it can be used anywhere on the body.

Directions:

It takes approximately 1 teaspoon of powder to cover the face and neck, although it can be used wherever it is needed. Put the desired amount of powder in a small container, add water and stir until you create a paste about the consistency of yogurt. Use your fingers to spread the paste evenly across your skin and let it dry. This skin detox should be left on until it dries, about 20 minutes, or for a couple of hours, as desired.

Use a natural fabric cloth (cotton, hemp, flax, rayon, silk) that won't matter if it gets stained when you are ready to wash the detox off. Hold the wet cloth soaked in warm water against the dried detox paste and moisten until it softens. Using gentle motions, wash the detox off. If desired, take before and after pictures so you can see the difference in your skin. This skin detox is beneficial to plumbing and septic systems and the environment, so don't be concerned about washing it down your drain.

Medicinal Herb Historical Uses

Oregano is  packed with health-promoting antioxidants, including limonene, thymol, carvacrol and terpinene.  It’s one of the top antioxidant foods with an oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) score of 159,277.  Oregano possesses the highest antibacterial activity against E. coli and helps promote gastrointestinal health and prevent food poisoning.  It reduces inflammation, helps with digestive issues, fights infections and improves cholesterol.

Hyssop helps relieve respiratory conditions, common cold, asthma or bronchitis, helps eliminate parasites in the gastrointestinal tract, increasing circulation, which improves oxygenation throughout the body.  Hyssop helps with muscle pain and inflammation, infections, chronic disease  and digestion.  It soothes the symptoms of premenstrual syndromes, such as mood swings and cramps.  Helps calm anxiety and stress, boost immunity, lower blood pressure, aids heart health and reduces the pain and discomfort of insect bites and stings.

Lovage has a high concentration of coumarins, limonene, camphor and eugenols giving it many health benefits.  It is a powerful expectorant clearing out excess phlegm and mucus while reducing irritation and inflammation of the lungs.  Lovage soothes the effect of allergens.  It is a natural inhibitor of histamines helping to reduce allergy symptoms like itchy eyes, runny nose and scratchy throat. Probiotics: LAB

LAB Culture (Lactic Acid Bacteria): Exfoliates gently and naturally removing dead cells, while also enhancing the growth of new healthy cells.  It leaves the skin looking brighter with a more even tone.  LAB helps clean up clogged pores and improves healing of wounds.  LAB is a powerful moisturizer, improving skin hydration by functioning as a humectant to improve moisture retention and help other topical skin care ingredients perform better.  LAB increases levels of ceramides, which are lipids naturally produced by the skin and are vital in supporting the skin’s barrier function. Without these essential lipids, the skin barrier is weakened, resulting in symptoms such as dry, itchy, or irritated skin.  Studies have found that LAB may be able to reduce abnormal pigmentation associated with aging and exposure to UV light, such as brown or white spots. LAB reduces the appearance of aging by stimulating collagen synthesis.  LAB is a gentle substance that can be used daily.

Since lactic acid causes natural exfoliation of the top layers of skin, you may want to consider discontinuing other exfoliating products (i.e. retinoids, scrubs) when you’re using a lactic acid product to avoid irritation.

It contains gluconic acid which chelates metals like aluminum from the body. SUGGESTED USE:

Shampooing Your Hair with a bar may be new to many of you. It is quite easy. Just get your hair wet and rub the bar on your scalp and hair. Massage it in gently and wash as usual.

Rinse with clean water and towel dry. We suggest you use a towel free from chemical detergents and toxic dryer sheets.

IMPORTANT:  This shampoo bar has a high amount of organic castor oil.  Castor oil is often used as a very powerful natural detoxification substance.  If you have ever used petrochemicals in your haircare products, you may have embedded toxins in your hair and scalp.  Many people experience detoxification symptoms when they begin using our shampoo bars.  During the first few days or weeks of use, you may experience toxins coming out of your hair and scalp.  This can materialize as waxy, stinky, thick, oily substances that may be difficult to remove.

Fermented rice water has been the secret to beautiful long and healthy hair for village women and imperial princesses in the China, Japan, and Southeast Asia since ancient times.  Women from Huangluo Village, in southern China, have extraordinarily long hair that stays black until they are around 80 years old. Their average hair length is about 6 feet. Part of their secret to having such long hair lies in washing it with fermented rice water.

Fermented rice water is rice water that has slightly soured. It is rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamin E, and probiotic microbes. Rice extracts have moisturizing properties. You can use rice water for your face, body, and hair.

With our Rejuvenating Hair Treatment, we have added a combination of 15 prebiotic herbs, which increases the nutrient value of the probiotic rice ferment. The herbs we selected are all beneficial for hair, scalp and skin. We found that fermented herbal rice water treatments increased the shine, color spectrum and hair elasticity.  It also decreased surface friction.

In our family we no longer use any commercial hair shampoos, conditioners or detanglers. We only use our probiotic shampoo bars and our ferments as rinses and conditioners. Once we detoxified our hair and scalp from old chemical residue, we didn’t need to wash our hair as often. How to Make the Herbal Tea:

Bring ½ gallon filtered water to a near boil. Add Herbs. Let tea sit at room temperature until cool.

How to Make the Rice Culture in the Herbal Tea:

Strain the herbs out. Add the rice to the tea and stir. Cover the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter and rubber band. Let sit at room temperature for 2-3 days. Stir every day. NOTE: Cooler temperatures slow fermenting process. We have fermented ours for over a week if needed.

Strain the rice out of the water and discard the rice into a compost. Store the strained tea in the fridge in a jar with a tight lid.

Take out enough fermented rice/herb water mix and put in a small glass jar to keep in the shower for a few days use. Leave the remainder of the ferment in the fridge.

If you want your small jar of rice/tea water to continue to ferment in the shower, cover it with a breathable cloth and rubber band. If you don’t want your rice/tea to continue to ferment, cover it with a tight lid. Additional fermentation increases the probiotic microbial levels in this culture and can facilitate hair improvement. When the herbs are cultured with the microbes in the rice ferment they form prebiotic nutrition that feed both the microbes and your scalp and hair.

Optional: You can add a few drops of essential oil to the ferment you leave in the shower for aroma.

For a Special Honey ferment: After fermenting the rice/tea for 48 hours, mix 1 cup warm water with 1 Tbsp. honey, stir until honey is dissolved, cool and add to tea. Let ferment for another 12-24 hours and then store in the fridge with a tight lid. The honey feeds the probiotic microbes and increases their activity.

How to Use the Herbal/Rice Water Hair Treatment:
Shampoo hair as usual. Pour rice/herb tea over hair and massage into scalp. Make sure to get the ends of your hair thoroughly wet with the tea mixture. You can either wash the tea out, or leave it in, then dry and style as usual. If you experience a slight film on your hair it will easily brush out. After several treatments you should notice your hair getting softer and shinier. This hair treatment can be used as often as needed.

Tea Baths are one of the oldest ways to rest and relax.  In a hot bath our pores open wide and our skin quickly absorbs the nutrients and medicinal properties of the various natural herbs used in the tea bath.  Bathing in herbs is also a great way to get herbal medicine into small children or people having difficulty taking herbal medicines by mouth.  The skin is the largest assimilation organ and soaks up organic nutrition quickly, especially when we are relaxed and warm. 

Drink plenty of pure water while in the tub to assist with detoxification.  We usually try to stay in an herb bath for 30 minutes to 2 hours for optimum effects.

How we use the tea baths:

We first boil the herbs in water on the stove and let steep for 3-5 minutes, strain the herbs out and put the tea into the tub water.
