SUGGESTED USE: Scoop a small amount of the herb infused honey out of the jar with a small clean spoon or dry fingers. Apply to skin where needed.  For a facial mask treatment, get fingers wet and spread the honey on the skin until it forms a thin layer across the face. Let it dry.  Get fingers wet again and re-moisten the honey on your skin. Gently massage your skin to exfoliate your tissues.  This stimulates your circulation to improve nutrient assimilation and your lymphatic system to detox poisons.  Wash the honey off when you are ready. 

If you are using this honey herb infusion on an open sore, wound, scar tissue or area where there is infection, you may want to apply the honey, cover it with a wrap or bandage. Let it soak in for several hours or overnight.  We have used herb infused honey for decades on all kinds of wounds and experienced rapid healing without infection. 

Raw honey crystallizes over time. Crystallization in your honey mask will not reduce its healing powers.  You may have to add more water on your skin when using it.

Note: The Oasis Hair Spritzer has cassia essential oil in it.  Although the label is waterproof, we found after we ordered all the labels that it is not Cassia proof.  If you want your label to last, please put a piece of clear plastic laminate contact paper or packing tape over it.

Understanding the healing process helps us be patient with our own body.  Before our tissues can improve we need to clean out all the pathogens, poisons, parasites, drug residue, heavy metals, synthetic chemicals and waste products.  Living probiotic cultures work directly with our immune system to identify unnatural invaders in our body and destroy them.  The detoxification process can feel like a mini-war inside of us.  When we expel dangerous substances, our immune system and lymph system need extra nourishment and healing touch to assist the process.  When our body begins to expel toxins we may itch, stink, sweat, sluff off skin cells, and our hair may get greasier.  Suppressing this part of the process only prolongs the healing.  Cleansing is vital.  

To facilitate the cleansing part of healing, there are several things you can do.  Detox baths speed up the process.  Your pores open wide in a hot shower or bath and you sweat out toxins at an increased rate.  Make sure to drink lots of pure water.  If an area of your skin or scalp itches, TOUCH IT, don’t ignore it.  The lymphatic system expels poisons and is stimulated with touch. 

When toxins are expelled from the inner cell and they get dumped into your blood or lymph system, you may feel them, because now they are back on the radar of your awareness.  Toxins feel yucky!  They can make you feel nauseated, tired, sick, achy and feverish.  The goal is to get them out of your body a.s.a.p. through one of your elimination channels: bowels, urine, breath, saliva and mucus, or your skin which is the largest assimilation and elimination organ and the most used because it keeps toxins away from your vital organs.  Opening up all channels of elimination decreases the cleansing period.  So breathe deep, keep your bowels and bladder moving, drink pure water and exercise.  It helps to give your body extra things that assist detoxification such as: activated charcoal, bentonite clay, zeolite, diatomaceous earth, shungite, and cleansing herbs, which we put in our soaps and bath detox to make detoxification easier.  If your scalp starts to itch, you are probably beginning to dump old toxins.  Treat your scalp the same way you would your skin, love it tenderly and give it what it needs to be free from toxins.

This is our take on facial cleansing grains. After learning more about face care routines, we discovered how important it is to use facial cleansing grains in our routine. Today most women wear make-up daily to amplify their natural features and feel good about themselves, so its not news that our pores get clogged and gross about just one day of daily life. Even for people who don't wear make-up, our pores get plugged up from us touching our faces with our hands or just us being out and about. Since our skin is the largest organ of the body and it has the largest exposure to the outside, it needs lots of care and upkeep too!

Reasons why you should add facial cleansing grains to your routine:

1. Its a really soft way to exfoliate, cleanse, and nourish the skin while keeping the beneficial oils intact at the same time.

This rosemary and peppermint shampoo bar creates the tingle of mint while forming a rich lather that leaves your hair free from the heavy chemical additives found in most commercial shampoos.  This is a nutrient-rich shampoo bar infused with 40 medicinal herbs, combined with 4 probiotic cultures to create a diverse and highly adaptable microbiome of nutrition and herbal medicine for your skin, scalp, and hair.  

It is easy to take on airplanes and works great for campers, hikers and hunters. As long as you let it dry between uses it lasts quite a while, depending on the amount of hair you have and how often you wash it.

All our shampoo bars are cold process natural lye products. In the saponification process the lye turns oils into soap. By the time the shampoo bar cures, no lye remains.

SUGGESTED USE:

Shampooing Your Hair with a bar may be new to many of you. It is quite easy. Just get your hair wet and rub the bar on your scalp and hair. Massage it in gently and wash as usual.

Rinse with clean water and towel dry. We suggest you use a towel free from chemical detergents and toxic dryer sheets.

IMPORTANT:  This shampoo bar has a high amount of organic castor oil.  Castor oil is often used as a very powerful natural detoxification substance.  If you have ever used petrochemicals in your haircare products, you may have embedded toxins in your hair and scalp.  Many people experience detoxification symptoms when they begin using our shampoo bars.  During the first few days or weeks of use, you may experience toxins coming out of your hair and scalp.  This can materialize as waxy, stinky, thick, oily substances that may be difficult to remove. 

We experienced detoxification in the beginning as we switched from chemical hair treatments to our natural shampoo bars.  For some people the detoxification lasts a week, for others it may happen once or twice every few months when a new layer of embedded chemicals are pulled out of the scalp and hair.  Once your scalp detoxifies, washing your hair is simple, wash and rinse and your hair is squeeky clean.

If your hair builds up with toxic residue from the cleansing of your scalp, we suggest some type of vinegar rinse.  You can use raw organic apple cider vinegar mixed with an equal amount of water to rinse your hair and remove residue.

 We also sell Kombucha Hair Spritzers.  These are made from an aged kombucha vinegar that is cultured in many medicinal herbs that help nourish hair and scalp. The Hair Spritzers help remove the toxic residue and add additional beneficial microbes to your hair.

Fermented rice water has been the secret to beautiful long and healthy hair for village women and imperial princesses in the China, Japan, and Southeast Asia since ancient times.  Women from Huangluo Village, in southern China, have extraordinarily long hair that stays black until they are around 80 years old. Their average hair length is about 6 feet. Part of their secret to having such long hair lies in washing it with fermented rice water.

Fermented rice water is rice water that has slightly soured. It is rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamin E, and probiotic microbes. Rice extracts have moisturizing properties. You can use rice water for your face, body, and hair.

With our Rejuvenating Hair Treatment, we have added a combination of 15 prebiotic herbs, which increases the nutrient value of the probiotic rice ferment. The herbs we selected are all beneficial for hair, scalp and skin. We found that fermented herbal rice water treatments increased the shine, color spectrum and hair elasticity.  It also decreased surface friction.

In our family we no longer use any commercial hair shampoos, conditioners or detanglers. We only use our probiotic shampoo bars and our ferments as rinses and conditioners. Once we detoxified our hair and scalp from old chemical residue, we didn’t need to wash our hair as often. How to Make the Herbal Tea:

Bring ½ gallon filtered water to a near boil. Add Herbs. Let tea sit at room temperature until cool.

How to Make the Rice Culture in the Herbal Tea:

Strain the herbs out. Add the rice to the tea and stir. Cover the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter and rubber band. Let sit at room temperature for 2-3 days. Stir every day. NOTE: Cooler temperatures slow fermenting process. We have fermented ours for over a week if needed.

Strain the rice out of the water and discard the rice into a compost. Store the strained tea in the fridge in a jar with a tight lid.

Take out enough fermented rice/herb water mix and put in a small glass jar to keep in the shower for a few days use. Leave the remainder of the ferment in the fridge.

If you want your small jar of rice/tea water to continue to ferment in the shower, cover it with a breathable cloth and rubber band. If you don’t want your rice/tea to continue to ferment, cover it with a tight lid. Additional fermentation increases the probiotic microbial levels in this culture and can facilitate hair improvement. When the herbs are cultured with the microbes in the rice ferment they form prebiotic nutrition that feed both the microbes and your scalp and hair.

Optional: You can add a few drops of essential oil to the ferment you leave in the shower for aroma.

For a Special Honey ferment: After fermenting the rice/tea for 48 hours, mix 1 cup warm water with 1 Tbsp. honey, stir until honey is dissolved, cool and add to tea. Let ferment for another 12-24 hours and then store in the fridge with a tight lid. The honey feeds the probiotic microbes and increases their activity.

How to Use the Herbal/Rice Water Hair Treatment:
Shampoo hair as usual. Pour rice/herb tea over hair and massage into scalp. Make sure to get the ends of your hair thoroughly wet with the tea mixture. You can either wash the tea out, or leave it in, then dry and style as usual. If you experience a slight film on your hair it will easily brush out. After several treatments you should notice your hair getting softer and shinier. This hair treatment can be used as often as needed.
